ahoy!

4 days in Ios wasn't enough. Best party town ever, good cheap souvlaki's and amazing beaches, everything you want from an island getaway.

The first day there was after our all nighter in Mykonos, so after Olivia over slept her alarm and missed the 8am ferry, we stayed in and again, hit the pillow hard. Rochelle and I couldn't resist our first Ios souvlaki on the first night, so after sleeping all day, we got the 411 from Nikki, owner of the Brothers Hotel we were staying at and ventured to the port. Cute little beach side dinner :)

Now that Olivia was due to arrive a day later, we had lazy day by the pool, quick super market shop and pre drinks before dinner at the port. Dinner at Souzana's down by the port, probably the most amazing moussaka ever :) Laura and I opted for the huge 1L bottle of rose, yummy!

After tea it was on to the yacht. Yes! The yacht. Captained by a 27 year old English man, we enjoyed a selection of 90's classics, including Aqua, and a big bottle of Balvodere vodka ;) Laura and I then hit the clubs with our new sailing gang. Ios has a pop in and pop out club system; without cover charges, you just leave if you don't like the vibe and pick another one :) Best clubs by far were Disco 69 and Slammer bar, where they actually hit you over the head with random solid objects when you order a particular shot (I witnessed a rubber mallet, a skateboard and a milk crate) random! To end the night, The Irish Pub is the best. It doesn't open till 3am, but everyone is there shortly after and it's by far the best night out! Early morning walk home after the best souvlaki in town at Time Out, just at the top of the hill.

Day trip in Manganari for our final full day, nice beach but only two buses in and one bus out for the day so be ready to commit to laziness at the beach. I just can't tan for that long that's to my pastey father :) Another night out for the four of us, cous cous dinner turned out better than expected and the club hopping began again. Ended the night with the famous Ios bakery chicken pie, the girls were I'm heaven.

Afternoon ferry to Santorini, so lazy day again after check out, nearly 5 hours by the pool :) loving life!
