After a misdirected walk taking 20 minutes longer than the cab driver said it would, we arrived at hotel Galatia.. Cute little room with friendly staff, check. Close to the shops and nightlife, check. Hotel cat, checkmate! Santorini is beautiful, just like the pictures tell you it will be. Worth while doing is the 3 hour walk to Oia from Fira/Thera along the coast line. Stunning views and a good work out.
We visited the black beach Perissa one day, right at the cliff edge, small stone like sand and concreted shallow water for about 50m out from shore. Had a good laugh at a couple taking raunchy beach photos at the shore.
Nightlife in Santorini is average. The male population outweighs the females by far, but the drink deals can work in your favour that way.
Super cute shops though, plenty to buy. If you go, make sure you visit the bead shop just down from the Atlantis Hotel (the legend is true!! Atlantis is under santorini!). The shop have hundreds of beads to choose from, and will make a braclet or necklace up for you with your favourites.
Off to Hungary now after a stop over in Athens. Cannot wait for Balaton Sound!!
