Lake/festival is the best combination. Most mornings you'll awake to majority of the campers asleep on their lilos on the grass next to the lake. Slumber city. We set up a tent in the camp grounds, but the heat gets you up pretty quickly so grab your sleeping bags and head to the lake.
The festival covers a pretty big area, heaps of different stages - one just for dubstep :P Record crowds this year two with something like 40% foreigners. Only 7 years this little festivals been going and it is definitely making a name for itself.
The line up for Balaton this year was insane. Calvin Harris, Avicii, Crystal Castles, Wu Tang Clan, AfroJack, Fedde le Grand, Prodigy, Steve Aoki, Axwell, Modestep, Dada Life, Nervo, Bloody Beetroots and Doctor P.
If you want to dance like crazy, Avici, Nervo and Afrojack were the best :) If you want to go mental, Crystal Castles, Wu Tang and Prodigy never failed. Doctor P was insane, Beetroots weren't bad. And if you want cake in your face, Steve Aoki is your man. Plenty of great DJs in the house tents with a wide variety too if you just want to hang out.
Food wise, Balaton does it best. Not only is the selection wide, with nearly every cuisine, the price is cheap and it all tastes amazing :) the old sneaking in booze trick worked too, but drinks weren't over priced either.
