Pompeii

The volcano in Pompeii erupted over the city, killing everyone in sight and preserving everything so perfectly. Tragic yes, but amazing to see now. This city is like a step through time, literally.

So many photos taken and so much to see. The city of Pompeii is literally a city in ruins, preserved by the boiling hot ash that landed on it so long ago.

Amongst the town is housing in tack with old ovens, benches and chimneys. Determined by what is inside the properties, each place is listed as what it was previously, whether that's a bakery, family home swimming pool or even brothel.

There is almost an Olympic style stadium and amphitheatre which is meant to be the best preserved in history.

Wear some good walking shoes and bring plenty of water. It's a big city and there's a hell of a lot of walking, but worth seeing :)

Highly recommend finishing the day with a lemon granite. So refreshing and made with lemons as big as your head :D
